Lacey and Larkin’s Impact in the Fight for Human and Immigrants’ Rights

Civil, human and migrant rights have been the leading cases sponsored by a majority of the non- governmental organizations. Discrimination acts and anyone who has been a victim of it are the primary targets of this groups.


Committee of lawyers for Civil Rights is one of the organizations which have served children, women, and immigrants to acquire their rights for more than 40 years.

It was established in the year 1963 following a request from one of the former America presidents John Kennedy. Destroying racial segregation is the central civil right and the organization goals.

The primary committee goals are fighting for equal rights for the smaller groups. Its campaigns are based on the things that bring discrimination regarding race and other economic differences. Its focus is on representing the African American community to get justice for discrimination cases as well as ethnic communities seen as minorities who regularly face the economic inequality.

For improvement of its standards, it obtains support from volunteers and partners. The committee is involved globally in supporting human rights. They work with local and global cases. They strive to reinforce the law to make sure that the victims of human rights discrimination are well represented.

Another influential organization is the Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund. Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey founded Phoenix New Times and Village Voice Media to give monetary help to organizations that support human rights. They went to court and sued the country, won the case and were given a resettlement amounting to $3.75 million, which they use to support groups that were fighting for human rights. One of the team is ACLU Immigrant’s Rights Project.

ACLU Immigrant’s Rights Project is an organization that protects immigrant’s human as well as civil rights. It employs sponsorship, outreach and lawsuit programs for it to achieve its goals. The litigation programs get executed by the Supreme and District Courts.

The group leading objectives is guaranteeing human rights to the migrants. In ACLU, Michael and Jim are the leading executive members and they always guarantee that the migrants get equivalent rights as required by law.

The war against human rights requires many non- governmental organization and a lot of funds. Mike and Jim are a great example of the support in the fight for implementation for human rights and immigrants’ rights.
